Important Programme Requirements
Mandatory Property Purchase
For all mainland categories (Platinum, Gold, Silver, and SEZ), purchasing a residential property is now a compulsory requirement.
- Holding Period: Properties must be held for at least 10 years, though you may “upgrade” to a higher-value home during this time
- S-MM2H Exception: Property purchase remains optional for the Sarawak program
Annual Stay Requirement
- Ages 25–49: You must stay in Malaysia for at least 90 days per year.
- Ages 50 and Above: There is no minimum stay requirement for the mainland tiers.
- Sarawak (S-MM2H): All participants must stay in Sarawak for at least 30 days per year.
Financial Flexibility
- FD Withdrawal: After one year, you may withdraw up to 50% of your fixed deposit to fund property purchases, medical expenses, or education in Malaysia.
Work & Business Rights
- Platinum Only: Holders are permitted to conduct business, act as company directors, and hire a foreign domestic helper.
- Sarawak (S-MM2H): Holders can work part-time or conduct business in Sarawak.
